Becoming the Light I Needed: A Journey Through Inner-Child Healing and Mediumship

When Cathy talks about her journey, you can feel her strength in every word.

She’s not just an inner child healing mentor but also a living proof that healing is not just about fixing what’s broken. It’s about remembering who you really are beneath the layers of survival.

Cathy’s childhood was far from easy. She grew up in an environment where love was conditional and silence was the rule.

For years, she believed that what she went through was normal,  that somehow it was her fault. Like many of us who grew up in dysfunctional homes, she didn’t realise until much later that she was carrying pain that wasn’t hers to hold.

Her first steps into healing began with talk therapy. It gave her words for what she’d been through, but something deeper still needed her attention. It wasn’t until she discovered somatic therapy, EMDR, and brainspotting that she began to meet the younger versions of herself, the inner children who had been waiting for her to notice them.

Through this process, Cathy realised that healing is not about reliving pain, it’s about giving those unseen parts of us the love and validation they’ve always needed. It’s about integrating them into who we are now so we can live fully in the present.

When she adopted her son at 40, everything shifted again.

“I wanted to give him the love I never had,” she says.

“I told God to send me the child who needed who I am.”

That prayer became her purpose to raise a child from a place of love, safety, and compassion.

For forty years, Cathy worked as a teacher. Her classroom was a space where every child mattered, where no one was invisible. Looking back, she realises that her life’s mission has always been to make others feel seen and heard, the very thing she was denied as a child.

Her business, Seen and Heard Heart Healing, was born from that same desire. It’s a space for people to reconnect with their inner child, to understand where their wounds began, and to finally give those parts of themselves the attention they’ve always deserved.

But Cathy’s story doesn’t end there. In her sixties, she discovered her connection to Spirit, a gift that had been waiting quietly beneath her healing work.

When she joined my Mediumship Academy, she didn’t come to become “a medium.”

She came to understand why Spirit was reaching out to her and how to use it to help others.

Ten months later, she’s channeling loved ones, guiding others through deep healing, and integrating her spiritual gifts with the wisdom of her lived experience.

Her message is clear:

“It’s never too late to heal. It’s never too late to begin again. Every year you’ve lived only makes you wiser, and your story is the medicine someone else needs.”

Cathy’s journey reminds us that spirituality is not about perfection, it’s about presence. It’s about choosing love where there used to be fear, and listening to the whispers of Spirit when they tell you that you’re ready for more.
